Respect is more important than views

What’s Happening?

A harmful trend has emerged.

A harmful trend on social media encourages children to pretend to be blind for entertainment. These videos:

  • Mock blindness and low vision.
  • Reinforce stereotypes and stigma.
  • Teach young people that disability is something to laugh at, not understand or respect.

We believe most people want to do the right thing. This campaign is about helping them do just that. Social media should be a space for creativity, connection and inclusion, not mockery or harm. That’s why we’re inviting creators, parents, allies and platforms to help shift the culture and make respect go viral.

What You Can Do.

How you can get involved to stop it.

Write to the eSafety Commissioner and ask for stronger protections for people with disability in online spaces.

Report online harm

Encourage your MP to support inclusive online safety reforms.
